Lizbeth Velásquez
Lizbeth Jimena Velásquez is an attorney with Danks Miller & Cory. She practices civil and criminal litigation, as well as immigration law.
She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
Lizbeth was born in Bogotá, Colombia, South America, and has lived in Mississippi since she was five. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Biology, with an emphasis in Pre-Medicine, and a B.A. in Anthropology, with an emphasis in Archaeology. Lizbeth was an archaeologist for 20 years, 18 of which she worked for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. She graduated cum laude in May of 2023 from Mississippi College School of Law.
Lizbeth is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has been a member of the non-profit Mississippi Hispanic Association since its inception in 1996 and currently holds the position of Treasurer and Bilingual Reading Program Director. Lizbeth is also a board member of El Pueblo and Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance, both non-profit organizations whose mission is to advocate, educate, and organize the immigrant community.
