A limited number of employment-based visas are awarded each fiscal year. If you qualify under one of the five preference categories, we work with you and your employer to make sure your petition is correct, your file is complete, and every required document is included.
Employment-based immigrant visas are issued in the order petitions are filed, until the annual limit is reached. Your filing date becomes your priority date, and there may be a wait of several years before it is reached.
An interview is scheduled at your U.S. Embassy or Consulate and conducted by a consular officer. We notify you of the date and time and make sure you are prepared for the questions.
Before the interview, you complete a medical examination and any required vaccinations. Where needed, we help you get an appointment with an authorized panel physician.
